Mrs. Effie Lucille Perkins Barker, age 94, of 312 Swain Drive, entered the arms of Jesus on Monday, December 14, 2015 at her residence.  She was born in Pittsylvania County on September 18, 1921 to the late Willie and Mary John Perkins.    She lived her entire life in Danville where she and her late husband, Clarence “Bubba” Barker, owned and operated Bubba’s Ice Cream and Soda Shop.   She was a member of North Main Baptist Church and she devoted her life to caring for her son.  Mrs. Barker is survived by her son, Ronnie Barker, of Danville.  In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by one sister and one brother.  Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, December 18, 2015 at Barker Funeral Home Chapel with the Pastor Fred Unger officiating.  Interment will follow in Highland Burial Park.
