Jerry Dean Whitley, age 72, of 119 Ashwood Place, Danville, VA, passed away on Sunday, October 04, 2015 after several years of declining health.
He was born on July 10, 1943, in Danville, VA, to the late Clay Garland Whitley and Nellie Poindexter Whitley.
Mr. Whitley worked at Goodyear Tire and Rubber prior to his retirement.
He is survived by his sons: Jeffrey Carr Whitley and wife Tonia of Danville, VA and Jason Britt Whitley of Wilmington, NC; granddaughter, Carter Paige Whitley; step-grandson, Daniel Allen Moore; and brother, Garland Ray Whitley.
Entombment will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 08, 2015 in the Mausoleum.at Danville Memorial Gardens with Rev. David Turbyfill officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service in the Mausoleum. At other times, the family will receive friends at 1035 Mangraums Rd., Danville, VA.
