Mildred Carter Wilson, 80, passed away on Tuesday, February 17, 2015 at Danville Regional Medical Center.  She was born in Halifax County on February 23, 1934 to the late Charlie Eddie Carter and the late Lillian Edwards Carter.  Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her brothers and sisters, Aubrey Carter, Sarah Carter Calvert and Charles Carter.

She is survived by her brothers and sisters; Thomas Carter and wife, Elsie of Danville, Mary Ellen Carter Goss and husband, Charles of Niceville, FL, Jack Carter and wife, Ruth of Alton, Hilda Carter Nostrandt and husband, Bob of Richmond, Jane Carter Saunders of Mechanicsville, MD, and James Carter and wife, Margaret of Danville; sisters-in-law, Jeanette L. Carter and Excie B. Carter; several nieces and nephews; and a very special friend, Jean Philpott.

A funeral service will be conducted on Friday, February 20, 2015 at 11:00 am in the Swicegood Funeral Home Chapel.  The family will receive friends following the service in the Swicegood Funeral Home Chapel.  Interment will follow the service in Highland Burial Park.
