Mrs. Peggy Ann Gammon Bowles Willard, age 85, of Danville, VA, died on Saturday, November 25, 2017 at Stratford Rehabilitation Center, Danville, VA.

Mrs. Willard was born on May 11, 1932, in the West Fork Community of Pittsylvania County, to the late Roy Emerson Gammon and Essie Mae Clark Gammon Brown. She worked at Dan River Mills and was of the Christian faith.

She is survived by her children James Cecil Willard, Jr. and wife Valerie, Jeffrey Dean Willard, and Rebecca Jean Lovell and significant other, Sean Burnette; grandchildren, Robin Terrell and husband Buster Terrell and Lee Wyatt and wife Tabitha Wyatt; seven great-grandchildren; brother, Charlie K. “Pete” Gammon.

In addition to her parents Mrs. Willard was predeceased by beloved husband, James Cecil Willard, Sr.; son, Clayter Lee Bowles, Jr.; grandchildren, Jeffrey Shelton, Jeremy Blake Shelton, and Joseph G. Snead; brothers, Roy E. Gammon, Carl V. Gammon, Joseph G. Gammon, and Robert Luther Gammon; sisters, Nancy Gammon Owen and Martha Gammon Ozmar.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Swicegood Funeral Home with the Reverend Loretta Barbour officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home and at other times will be at the residence of her daughter Becky, 82 Hylton Ave. Danville, VA, 24541. Interment will follow in the Scearce-Gammon-Kirks Family Cemetery, Brosville, VA.
