Mr. Reuben Thomas Stowe, age 78, of 2438 Walters Mill Rd., Providence, NC, passed away on Friday, February 24, 2017 at his residence.

He was born on February 09, 1939, in Danville, VA, to the late Thomas Stowe and Ruby Herndon Stowe.

Before his retirement, Mr. Stowe worked at Goodyear Tire and Rubber and was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed going fishing with his daughter and her husband at Smith Mountain lake, Nascar racing, and meeting with his buddies at Hardee’s. Mr. Stowe was a very likeable person, and he never met a stranger.

He is survived by his daughter, Cindy Furr and her husband Lee, of Providence, NC; special “son,” Ernie Wayne Jordan; and numerous cousins, friends, and family.

Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, February 27, 2017 at Danville Memorial Gardens with Rev. Duane Blevins officiating. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, February 26, 2017 at Swicegood Funeral Home.
